Finding good talent is hard.
Recent college graduates have high demands and often don’t have the skills necessary to justify those demands. Those who do may lack the self-guidance and entrepreneurship necessary to flourish at a growing business. If you aren’t in New York City or the Bay Area, it can even be hard to attract the high-quality ambitious young people to come work for a tech startup. If you aren’t a tech startup, the difficulty grows even more daunting.
You’re busy growing your business. You can’t deal with recruiting by hand or even hiring recruiters. You need good talent.
At the same time, existing options aren’t all that helpful. You’d love to start something that helps you cull new talent, but internship programs don’t let you get to know the candidates that well — they’re in and out in a few weeks. You need something better — something that adds more value to your company and gives you a better look at whether or not you’d want this person to be with you in the long term.
Or maybe you’re a flourishing entrepreneur who needs somebody who can pick up some work all over the business. Existing roles and job titles leave some to be incorporated elsewhere — you need a utility player. You need somebody who can do a little bit of everything competently — somebody who just gets sh*t done.
Or maybe you’re somebody at an established company and your current interns leave you wanting for more when it comes to ambitious young talent. You want somebody who you can train in your field, who can learn the ropes, and who can guide themselves — not somebody who needs constant hand-holding and complains about not getting enough attention through stodgy professional development programs.
If any of these sound like positions you’ve found yourself in, you need a Praxis participant.
Praxis business partners join our network because they need the best, ambitious, hard-working young talent out there. Our participants come to their business partners with the big-picture thinking and ambitions of Silicon Valley combined with the work ethic and grit of the Rustbelt. We have participants working at everything from Austin-based tech companies to Pittsburgh-based construction companies. Regardless of the location or the industry, they’re adding value for their partners.
They come in with a thirst for learning what the company is like and seeing where they can add value. They’re not restricted by job titles and will never say, “That’s not in my job description.” One day you might have them join you for a sales or fundraising call and the next you might have them redrafting your website, prospecting sales leads, or even out there doing the calls themselves.
Participants are also actively engaged in professional and personal development through the Praxis education program. While they’re working for you, they focus on becoming a better employee, entrepreneur, and student of life. With Praxis coaches who work with them one-on-one, they are constantly improving for your business.
You aren’t taking on just another employee with a Praxis participant — you’re taking on somebody who will be a constantly-improving utility player for your whole team. If you’re used to interns who funnel through the revolving door of internship programs or entry-level employees just looking for jobs, Praxis participants are sure to surprise you with their ambition, grit, and work ethic.
