From homeschoolers to college opt-outs and recent college grads, to young professionals looking to transition into a more dynamic career, every month a wide range of Praxis participants get started in apprenticeships at fast-growing companies.
During the Praxis Bootcamp, participants learn about the different types of roles available, develop projects to learn and show their skills and work with our placement team to connect with opportunities, prepare for interviews, and win opportunities with our business partners.
They have real skin in the game throughout the entire process and learn on the fly what it takes to prove to a growing company they can create value for them.
Here are a few of our most recently placed apprentices and the companies they’re working for.
Participant: Trevor Zitting
Business Partner: InsideOut (St. Petersburg, FL)
InsideOut develops and tests sales strategies to help growing businesses perfect their sales approach and reach more customers.
Role: Sales Development Rep
Trevor has always been ambitious and hungry for experience. When he was 16 and his peers were still in high-school, he started working at a mortgage broker and gained two years of valuable work experience. He joined Praxis to launch his career to the next level, with a focus on learning sales.
At InsideOut, Trevor will be mastering sales as a part of the team that tests and implements strategies for InsideOut’s clients. He will be working on the sales teams of individual clients, learning the variety of sales skills needed to sell different types of products.
Participant: Tanner Henderson
Business Partner: PrismQuality (Remote)
PrismQuality Systems creates custom software for major manufacturing companies, which helps them manage the quality and cost of building great products.
Role: Marketing Apprentice
Tanner dropped out of college after two semesters because he couldn’t see how it would help him get closer to the meaningful career he wanted.
He always had a passion for learning and that didn’t stop when he started a career in sales after college. As he worked in sales and on entrepreneurial projects, Tanner learned that marketing was the area he wanted to pursue and joined Praxis to accelerate his career in that direction.
In his apprenticeship at PrismQuality Tanner will work closely with their leadership team in revamping and building new channels for their digital marketing.
Participant: Elisa Serrano
Business Partner: VitusVet (Remote)
VitusVet builds technology to connect pet owners and vets and improve the health and safety of all pets.
Role: Business Development Rep
Elisa started college and found that she was not actually learning skills that would help her in a career. She was eager to learn and didn’t want to wait around for two more years before launching her career, so she joined Praxis.
For her apprenticeship, Elisa is joining VitusVet as a Business Development Rep where she will be developing foundational sales and business skills while helping VitusVet reach new customers.
Participant: Robert Cohen
Business Partner: 80/20 Marketing (Remote)
80/20 Marketing helps people learn the in’s and out’s of e-commerce. With courses, workshops, and a community they help people take e-commerce businesses to the next level.
Role: Inside Sales
Robert opted out of college to work on entrepreneurial projects. He learned a lot from starting a social media marketing and e-commerce business but wasn’t seeing as much progress towards his career goals as he wanted, so he joined Praxis.
For his apprenticeship, Robert is joining the sales team at 80/20, where he will help 80/20 reach new customers, and help those customers build their e-commerce businesses with 80/20’s tools.
Participant: Isaiah Ehlis
Business Partner: SchoolAdmin (Austin, TX)
Creates admissions & enrollment management software that helps independent schools thrive.
Role: Development Intern
Isaiah joined the Praxis Startup Internship Program to get his first taste of professional experience.
At 16, he had built programming skills and learned a lot from personal projects, but didn’t have the experience applying his skills to real-world problems.
At SchoolAdmin, Isaiah will be working to support the team as they develop school management software solutions.
