We asked Andrew about his decision to apply to Praxis and this is what he said:
What are you looking to get out of your Praxis experience?
When I was an undergraduate studying within a business school, I became very interested in Microeconomics. Specifically, I was intrigued by how businesses and consumers interacted, what determined the success of a business, and how businesses make the critical decisions that determine the success and profitability of the company. For this reason, I became very interested in economics and went on to obtain a master’s degree in the field. During that time, I was able to look in depth at econometrics and statistics and understand how data can provide insight into what is observed in markets. However, I came to the realization that rather than simply observing the market in theory and continuing with an academic career, I wanted to develop new skills and pursue a career in which I could add real value to a firm and be directly involved in the markets by contributing to a business.
Once I discovered Praxis I immediately felt that the program would be the perfect opportunity to complement my academic background, develop new skills that go beyond theory, and gain unique work experience through a role with a Praxis business partner. I believe Praxis is the perfect opportunity to take theoretical knowledge and skills and put it into practice.
