I’m in Phoenix for a few days, talking to college and high school students about Praxis and entrepreneurship. A few random observations from the trip:
*Sat next to a guy on the plane who was busily typing out a screenplay for the entire 3.5 hour flight. He’s writing a musical film about the Gods of Rock trying to save the genre from bad 80’s music. This is his hobby, but he was so in the zone and so passionate about it, and he’s already produced a few small things. It was inspiring.
*After I spoke at a high school in Tempe, a student came up to me and pulled out a piece of notepaper. He said it contained thoughts he wrote down while sitting in class last week, before he’d heard of Praxis. It was more or less an outline for an alternative to college very similar to Praxis. He said he’d been thinking more and more about how college was not sufficient to provide the skills and experiences he wants. He was so thrilled and couldn’t believe someone else was saying similar things. Something’s in the air.
*You can never have enough water on hand in Arizona.
Praxis representatives will be on the road quite a bit over the next six weeks, including Raleigh, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Cleveland, and Boston. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to connect!
