Every week, we share an inside look into the Praxis community. Here, you’ll find the latest news and accomplishments from our staff, participants, and alumni.
This week, one of our main focuses as a team was getting ready to launch a new course for the bootcamp! It’s launching at the beginning of September; keep an eye out for more information on our social media.

September 2019 Opening Seminar
“When that opportunity comes, it comes full-force.” —Kamau Olatunji, Praxis grad
Opening Seminar is one of our favorite events of the entire Praxis experience. This is where the career launch starts, and it’s always an exciting time.
In this month’s alumni roundtable, we were joined by Kamau Olatunji and Hope Szymanski. Here’s a short clip of what they had to say to the new Praxians:
On landing an apprenticeship:
Hunter Casillas on landing his apprenticeship: “I’m most excited about my apprenticeship because of the very diverse and talented team I will be closely working with. I know that it will be a valuable experience for my personal and professional growth and I can’t wait to get started!”
Hunter’s role is a Customer Support Specialist at GoodUnited. He will be working directly with one of the founders and in this technology-focused role, he will have the ability to gain experience in all areas of the business, including engineering. Check out the rest of this month’s placements here.
A Great Portfolio Project
Every Praxis participant creates at least one portfolio project during the course of their Praxis experience. Here’s an example, created by Gregory Williamson.
“The Praxis formula is contagious,” one participant remarked on Slack. “My Dad is working on sending out a value proposition to a company he’s interested in today.” (This one made our day.)
