Every week, we share an inside look into the Praxis community. Here, you’ll find the latest news and accomplishments from our staff, participants, and alumni.
This week, our team put a focused effort into offering career coaching calls for potential participants. One of our biggest strengths is that we are a team of coaches. Our work revolves around helping people discover and do what makes them come alive, and we’re excited to give that upfront value to our potential customers! Where can you schedule a call like this? Glad you asked.
Several Praxis participants met up in San Francisco this week! If you ask any participant or grad what their favorite aspect of Praxis is, they’ll almost always say it’s the community. In-person meetups are one example of how much the connections you make at Praxis make a difference. Here’s a glimpse:
New Business Partners
GoodUnited just hired their first Praxis participant, Hunter Casillas. GoodUnited helps nonprofits increase Facebook fundraiser donations, emails, and retention without lifting a finger. Their mission is to give nonprofits the power to make every fundraiser and donor feel appreciated.
Lena Wang recently started an apprenticeship with Zcash. The Zcash Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that focuses on financial privacy, and their mission is to build internet payment and privacy infrastructure for the public good. They serve the users of the Zcash protocol and blockchain. The Foundation also supports other applications of zero-knowledge cryptography, as well as other approaches to private cryptocurrency.
Praxis Grad Hires His First Apprentice
Philip Delvecchio is a 2017 Praxis grad. In 2018, he launched his own company, Hapday. Hapday provides operational services for scaling and launching businesses in the US market. Dana Arends joined the team last week in an operations role.
Participant/ Alumni Accomplishments
Our participants and alumni know how to hustle. These are some of the coolest things they’ve accomplished this week:
“I accidentally became the recruiter for my BP because we don’t know how LinkedIn works, so I’ve been fielding candidates for our video producer job.”
“Email split tests that are going out to a 1 million person list.”
“I got to help pitch my business partner to lots of investors yesterday at our demo day in San Francisco. It was an amazing learning experience, and I’m really excited to see how we grow because of it.”
“I landed a Freelance Content Writing Client for triple what I’m making at my apprenticeship. It’s just a temporary gig, but the ball’s rolling now.”
That’s all for this week! Stay tuned to the Praxis blog- we’ll be posting one of these every Friday.
