We’re excited to be starting our second day of the Praxis inaugural class opening seminar on beautiful Sullivan’s Island outside of Charleston, SC. Our base of operations for the seminar is the unique Mugdock Castle, owned and operated by our partner, Vince Graham. Yesterday was hectic, but rewarding, as participants came from wide and far to the castle — with participants from Austin, TX, Cincinnati, OH, Charleston, SC, Detroit, MI, and more. With an extensive dinner, social time, and opening words from our CEO — including the Praxis story — the energy is high among participants for the next couple of days.
While we’ll be offering live updates on our Facebook page and twitter feed (using the hashtag #Praxis2014), we also will be giving updates here on the blog and a recap after the close of the seminar this weekend.
So, what do participants have to look forward to this weekend? This morning starts off with a discussion on productivity and success with our CEO and our Education Director, TK Coleman: “Kicking Ass 101.” Participants contribute their own stories on success and failure in their personal and professional lives, with our staff giving their own stories. “Just get sh*t done,” is the number one piece of advice from Morehouse, with “Always Be Creating (ABC)” from Coleman.
Over the next two days, participants expect advice, inspiration, and warning from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and managers. Venture capitalist John Ramsey will share stories of pitches from successful — and unsuccessful — entrepreneurs from whom he’s been solicited. Paul Green, Jr., of the Morning Star Company and Morning Star Self-Management Institute, will challenge the participants’ presuppositions on how companies must be managed and will challenge them to try anarchy in the workplace and going bossless.
Again, follow us on twitter and like us on Facebook to get live updates from our opening seminar! Check back here over the next couple days for detailed news about the opening seminar and what our participants can look forward to at their partner businesses.
