It’s my favorite time of the month!
Time for an update where I recap and highlight a few of the most recent placements here at Praxis.
This is so exciting because every time someone starts their Praxis apprenticeship it means they’re about to experience what education should be. They’re getting a taste of the real world and seeing first-hand what businesses look for in an employee.
HINT: it’s not the credentials.
This stuff works. Just ask Praxis Participant Hannah Dennis:
She wanted to do graphic design, but she didn’t go to graphic design school.
Instead, she started doing design on her own.
First, She did projects. Then, she documented them and built an impressive personal portfolio that demonstrated her interest and skill.
Below are some more placements from March:
Participant: Santi Esposito
Businsess Partner: Seasteading Institute (San Francisco, CA)
Role: Executive Assistant
Santi has always had a passion for space, technology, and radical ideas.
In high school, he taught himself CAD modeling and metallurgy for fun.
Now, he’s working with the Seasteading Institute to help build the first floating city. He’ll be apprenticing directly under the founder.
Participant: Austin Boici
Businsess Partner: Reliant Technology (Atlanta, GA)
Role: Sales Development Rep
Austin was a professional trumpeter before coming into Praxis.
He applied when he realized he wanted to build a career in business rather than as a musician.
Now, he’ll be working alongside Praxis Participant, Nick Rundlett, at the front of the sales team at Reliant. Austin has that “hunter” mentality. He gets juiced at the idea of closing sales, so this role is perfect for him.
Participant: Adam Decker
Businsess Partner: ADS Security (Nashville, TN)
Role: Marketing Analytics
Adam tried college but just wasn’t getting much value out of it. As a result, he’s starting his Praxis apprenticeship. He’s an analytical thinker, story-teller, and marketer.
In addition, he has a great passion for writing and entrepreneurship.
He’ll be working with ADS to improve their customer experience and marketing.
Participant: Olivia Donaldson
Businsess Partner: Ripple IT (Atlanta, GA)
Role: Marketing Specialist
Olivia was homeschooled and never saw college as a way to help her achieve her goals.
Instead, she did things that intrigued her like speech and debate, graphic design, and marketing.
Now, at Ripple IT she’ll work marketing campaigns.
As always, check out last month’s placement update! See you next month for another round of exciting placements.
