Balancing Side Projects and Your Day Job
“How do you make sure you’re getting done all the work that needs to be done on a daily basis, while at the same time completing additional things that aren’t required of you, above and beyond your traditional role?”
Political Division and the Permissionless Mindset
“Recently, I’ve been concerned with the direction of the country going more left. A recent survey came out saying the majority of millennials support socialism. Also, if voting demographics in the US shift further to the left politically, through importing voters from countries that embrace big government, it will be harder legally to break the stranglehold of leftist ideology that mandates government schools and government healthcare.
I applaud groups like Praxis that bypass the permission mindset for offering alternative ‘practical’ education. The best response to combating government is to create and offer alternatives. I just hope that things wont get so bad that government will start cracking down on alternatives like it has on independent farmers and homeschoolers.
I guess my question would be: How do you think dialogue can be created between the growing political divisions in the country that seem to be at gridlock and ‘stuck’ in their political ideologies?”
“So apparently a lot of organizations and HR departments are filtering applicants based on degrees using keyword software, such as Oracle’s Taleo. Do you have suggestions for applicants without degrees (opt-outs, etc) to circumvent these filters? It is tough to get to the “show your work” stage if a computer is filtering you out up-front.”
