The Praxis Winter 2015 is in its final stages of formation, as we send out acceptance letters and match applicants up with business partners! The class is going to be our most exciting yet, with a variety of participants with different backgrounds, skills, and interests.
One such student is Imani Watson. Meet Imani, and join us in welcoming her!
I was in my second to last semester at university when I discovered Praxis. I’ve always been a freethinker and always felt suffocated by being expected to conform to the status quo and only chose to attend university out of societal pressure. While in university I was disillusioned with the homogeneity of ideas and hungered to truly be challenged. I ended up jumping from major to major trying to find where I fit in only to realize as I was nearing the end that I didn’t belong in there. I am a proponent of true economic and social freedom, and the cookie-cutter education was not conducive to nurturing those ideas.
Praxis appealed to me because it offers a flexible curriculum designed to challenge participants’ way of thinking, paired with the opportunity for hands-on experience to learn about entrepreneurship. Praxis will enable me to pursue my passions while becoming well versed in a myriad of topics and generating value in the global economy.
