Our Fall 2014 class is reaching its peak with only a few spaces left. The group who decided to break the mold and get more than what college offered them is growing and full of inspirational young people. Meet one such person, Cameron Luther:
For my entire life, I have always been a very curious person who is hungry for knowledge. What started as a seemingly open-ended quest for understanding turned into something much different as I grew up. I came to realize that the world is an incredibly complex place, and that my opportunity to learn and to make a difference will not go on forever. The only way I can make the most of my time here is to place my sights on goals, and spend time doing the things that will allow me to reach these goals most efficiently and effectively.
Experience has taught me that step one in accomplishing almost any goal is becoming educated. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that education and schooling are not synonymous. I found that real learning often occurs outside of a typical classroom environment, and that time spent in a classroom is often unrewarding. Although I do value my traditional education, even as an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan, I often felt that the material in my courses was too disconnected from any of my real goals. Deep down, what I really wanted was an education that would help me to cultivate value in myself, and teach me how to offer this value to other people. Then I discovered Praxis.
Unlike most of the traditional schooling I have had, Praxis does not have an arbitrary curriculum. As a person who highly values reason and evidence, the fact that Praxis bases its curriculum on the lives of actual entrepreneurs really appealed to me. Not only will the Praxis curriculum teach me vital business and interpersonal skills, but the business partnership will also teach me how to apply these skills in a practical way that other traditional educations would not. I am excited for the possibilities that Praxis has to offer and am looking forward to developing myself into the successful entrepreneur that I know I have the potential to become.
Welcome Cam, and remember that it isn’t too late to join him. Apply now.
