We asked Diana about her decision to apply to Praxis and this is what she said:
Why did you choose Praxis?
I was raised being told that college isn’t a ticket to instant success and there would likely be a better path for me to take . In high school I received good grades and was a “promising student,” but I felt like I was wasting my time studying subjects that I wouldn’t be applying or didn’t feel passionate about. I ended up homeschooling my first semester of junior year then decided to forego the rest of high school and obtain my GED right before my 17th birthday. I was ready to move on to the next step in my life. The only problem was that I couldn’t see any obvious alternative to the traditional path.
With perfect timing, Praxis appeared in my life. As soon as I heard about it I knew it was my answer. I’m so excited to be part of such a fast-paced, elite college alternative designed for entrepreneurial thinkers. I’m really looking forward to learning as much as I can about startups, creating growth, and bringing value to businesses. For me, the best way to learn has always been hands-on. I’ve found that learning from actual experiences is far more educational and productive than just reading about the best way to do something.
Praxis helps you carve your own perfect career path, as opposed to following a not-so-perfect path that’s already well worn. It offers the perfect atmosphere to inspire and promote growth. It propels you forward in the direction you want to go, as you’re trying to build the life you want.
