I can hardly believe it. Praxis was nothing more than an idea two years ago, and little more than a website 18 months ago. Today, the first ever Praxis class graduates.
They began in February at our opening seminar on Sullivan’s Island, SC. There they met entrepreneurs, CEO’s, venture capitalists, and thinkers and doers of a wide variety. They challenged each other on making the most of their brand, did public speaking workshops, and prepared for the challenges to come during ten months of working at their business partners and tackling the Praxis curriculum.
Today we’re in Las Vegas, NV for the closing seminar where they’ll present their projects and receive their graduation portfolios before ending with a bang at the Thiel Foundation Summit.
Each and every one of the six participants began the program not entirely clear where they’d end up and where they wanted to go. They knew they wanted more, and they knew new experiences and challenges were the only way to blaze new trails. Every one of them is graduating with a renewed sense of purpose and direction. All of them walk away with more than an amazing graduation portfolio and experience; they all have exciting full time jobs pursuing what they love!
Their business partners were thrilled with them. The professors conducting their oral exams were impressed. The Praxis team couldn’t be more proud. Most of all, they got tremendous value out of the experience on their terms, to achieve their goals, not jump through arbitrary hoops constructed by others.
These six mold-breakers wanted more, and they dove in head first to a brand new experience. They took the plunge with us and co-created an ten-month journey like no other. For that, I will always be especially proud and grateful. There can only be one first class, and this group of individuals were bold and adventurous enough to fill the role.
Congratulations Mitch, Conor, Claire, Zac, Cameron, and Chris. The world is yours!
